The 2022 Batgirl movie (starring Leslie Grace) went unreleased. Was the cover art on this new Young Adult novel, "Batgirl: Possession" by Jade Adia (Random House, 2024), originally considered to be a tie-in, perhaps?
Read the script, saw some of the dailies. Have good friends at WB.
They realize Batgirl is a good character with potential. This movie would have put the character in Howard the Duck territory-- which for you young ones was a character who was a cult popular character in the 70s-- then George Lucas made a movie and it was so bad Howard became toxic for any further adaptions. Hard to imagine since there have been four or five terrible Fantastic Four movies and they keep trying, but Howard was a colossal bomb-- that was the comparison to Batgirl.
