85,000$ for the folding Batman Batarang!

I would have taken the Batman unfolding Batarang, Utlity Belt, Bat Phone and Bat tech labels, all for the same price spent for the folding one.

Amazing that $3k was the cheapest item. Do you guys think the resale prices on stuff like this will come down over the next 15 years or so as the main audience dies off? I fit into that category too! lol

The selfish/morbid part of me is hoping I can really clean up in about twenty years.

I think there will always be collectors of “good” things, even after the main audience dies off, but I also think the number of those collectors will be comparatively low, and the value of such collectibles will drop. Even now, I meet people who never heard of the TV show, and have no interest in watching it. Same with other pop-culture icons, like the Beatles.

I finally had a chance to talk to my friend Stewart after the auction.

I had been taking with him before the auction about the pieces and he came out with some real winners!

He got the first belt with the extra details in the engraving. This completes his screen used Batsuit and a quest he has been on for 20+ years!
It works well with his suit because he owns an early silk cape and fabric batboots.

He picked up the Bat-Radio, the Bat-Claw with belt box, the folding Robin Bat-a-rang and the coveted folding Batman Bat-a-rang with the belt box!

He was in touch with a few other collectors and they tried to give each other some space to each have a go at the various pieces.
I told him I would have hogged them all!

I'm happy to say they will all be on display with the #3 Barris Batmobile in the museum he is building in New Jersey.

To say he is on cloud 9 is an understatement!!! What an auction!

LOL! I'm not a collector, but I'd love to live long enough to see you enjoy those Wayne Manor estate sale prices. :)

This is great news! Scott and I were saying last week that we really hoped Stewart rightfully got his hands on some of those items.

Agreed! It's so good to know these will be out on display for everyone to enjoy.

He just got planning commission approval to add a second floor to the building.
Get ready for an enormus two story Batcave set!

Where else can you put the #3 Barris Batmobile, a Batboat, a Batcycle,a Batgirl cycle, a Batcopter, screen used Penguin Sub model and periscope, a Jokermobile and oh yeah, the screen used costumes of all the heros and villains!
It's shaping up to be a batgeek vacation destination!

It also doesn't hurt that the owner is a super nice guy.

This is great news but I'm kind of confused. I thought Mark R. was building the museum but this says Stewart is building it? Can you explain. I don't know either person personally.

Two different museums! You can't have too many museums in my opinion!!! That was proven correct by the Gotham City Museum of Statistics!

Mark is building his in Logansport, Indiana and Stewart is building his in New Jersey.

Both are lifelong Batfans and friends of this board and others.

😳 (I was wondering, too).

Have members seen the two Batmobiles at Star Cars in Gatlinburg, TN?

Awesome news! How far along is Stewart’s and does he have a webpage or Facebook site for the museum yet? I don’t see either.
Someone build one in Texas please!

The building is being renovated/added to and since it's in the northeast , Winter has stopped building but it will be full steam ahead in Spring.

With every new auction, another question gets answered!!!

I could not figure out what was going on with the buckle attachments of this rig!

This one had multiple bars on both the buckle and the receiver.
The receiver was bent in a weird way ...

With the new images I was able to track it down.
It's another standard military buckle widely available back in the day.
