Stewart Berkowitz’s Black Beauty sold in January for $41,800
Saw this and followed the link to the Barrett-Jackson auction:

You can’t buy a gently used car for much less, nowadays.

UGH, its that 1970's recreation where Barris tried to "Batmobile" the Black Beauty with all of the colored pinstriping, a GH symbol on the doors and the "eyes" or whatever that was supposed to be on the windshield, along with other hideous modifications not native to Dean Jeffries's original.

Thanks for sharing this, Jim!
Until two weeks again I didn’t realise that Stewart’s vehicles had already been sold off, 10 months prior to the the props and costumes going up for auction.

Even though it’s not screen accurate, it would’ve been a fun vehicle to tool around in, and the price seems reasonable for what it was.
Now, if I had any influence with anyone at Stellantis, I would suggest they stop limiting Chryslerand design a technologically updated, retro inspired Imperial with a special edition “Black Beauty” version.

Barris sold this car to JJ Born for the Chicago Antique Auto Museum, where the #4 dragster and 'a' Batcycle were on display.

Mark, this topic is dealing with the George Barris built "Sunroof" clone.Mark Racop wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 10:22 pm Barris sold this car to JJ Born for the Chicago Antique Auto Museum, where the #4 dragster and 'a' Batcycle were on display.
It was the Dean Jeffries #2 Black Beauty that spent time at the Chicago Historical Antique Automotive Museum and not the "Sunroof" clone.

No problem Mark, just trying to keep the history of the 2 Jeffries cars accurate and separate from the replicas. I've lost count on the '66 Batmobile replicas and who's made what and when over the last say 10 years!! I used to be able to ID a bat just with perhaps a single photo, not today!
