The Latest Non-66 BATMAN Item you've acquired (or things that might be of interest)

Post by AndyFish »

I looked to see if we'd already made this topic here in the Forbidden Zone wasteland of the Off Topic area-- but I couldn't find it. With the Latest Batman Item you acquired in the main merch section I'm never sure if I should post non-66 Batman items I pick up. I figured I'd start this area for all manner of stuff we might pickup that other friends/fans on this board might be interested in seeing.

As most of you know, as much as I love the 60s Batman (both comic and TV Versions) I also have a heavy interest in the pulp roots of Batman and his appearances in the 1940s. It's how I got into movie serials-- recently I got this restored reproduction of a Superman 3 sheet for his original screen appearance. The seller graciously made me a smaller 4 foot high version since that's all I have space for. The colors are incredible and vibrant-- most of the posters for this Columbia serial I've come across show his costume as more green than blue.

It's a shame the 1948 SUPERMAN Serial isn't anywhere near as good as the poster, but it's a fun version and the first live action appearance of SUPERMAN. I like how the credits list Superman as if the real deal played the lead.

Darn Andy,
We seem to have the same taste in collectibles. I love these old serial posters there is so much art and style to them. I also have 7 3-Sheets coming myself. I love these. I don't have much space myself although I hope to have a museum done that will house my collection at some point. Could not resist the full size. I'm a stickler for exact, spot on reproductions when I cannot have the actual Item. That's why I go to people like Chuck and others that have that same eye for detail and accuracy that I do and want in my collectibles. I do have an original '66 Batman movie 3-Sheet in my poster collection as well. Good Score :D

That's great! I have the Atom Man, Captain Marvel, Batman and Robin and the BATMAN three sheet you have up there too. The posters (like for Batman and Robin) are SOOO much better than the serials sometimes. I do love serials though- I just finished THE DESERT HAWK (Columbia 1944) which was excellent.
