Kane obviously didn't draw from life or do any realism
I can’t recall if it was Jules Feiffer in “The Great Comic Book Heroes” who said it, nor can I remember if he was talking about Bob Kane or Chester Gould, but I remember reading this in my teen years and felt the description applied to the artists’ renditions of both Batman and Dick Tracy:
Angles are all important and it's one of the reasons this one took so long.
Getting it to read correctly from as many angles as possible.
Even the higher trimming when seen as in a comic, in down shots the nose is covered and just the back of the nostril is seen in most other shots.
Angles play a part in something that I wanted to explore and that is making the ears look different sizes.
Something that drove me crazy in comics where things changed proportions from panel to panel.
So this can change from long, medium and short looking ears depending on the camera angle!
