Post by barrycharly »

Hi,
I'm from Germany and new in this forum.
I collect all Batman cars from movies, comics, cartoons and animated in 1/43.
I have all from Eaglemoss, Corgi and HotWheels Elite.
But there are a lot never published. So I decited to do by my one.
Following are a few selfmade cars.

BarryCharly,

These are excellent! I find looking at them they bring back those old Corgi/Matchbox vibes and charm I used to love feeling back in the late '60s/early '70s. :D Really great work!

Hi Barry,
You might Google "Batmobiles, Dan Thompson" for an interesting website on not only Batmobiles, but Bat Planes through the ages. I don't have his website handy, but I know it goes by the Other Worlds label...I think!
If You can't find it, P.M. me or let me know on this board since You are relatively new and I'll dig it up for You. It covers things like the "Robonmobile" from the comic books. He has a prop job Bat Plane that is just AWESOME and I am building a 1/72 scale and a 1/48th scale model of it. If I can find a 1/32nd scale model of the P-40 Warhawk cheap, I can build one of those. He also does the "Blackhawks" Aircraft as well.
STOP THE PRESSES!!!! Barry, here is Dan's website:www.ourworlds.net/batman/batmobile/bat_bm50.html!
I hope this inspires You as much as it did me!
Cheers
Larry

Hi Larry,
thanks for the infos, but I know his page. He made very good models.
I have shown here only my 1966 cars, but I have build some more and some projects waiting to get ready.

Great collection, Rainer! You need just one more Bat-car to make it complete ;) :

Hi chrisbcritter,
thanks!
Is this the Riddler car?
Can you please tell me what kind of car that is and which chapter?

Hi Rainier,
It's a circa-1961 Humber Super Snipe. It's not owned by any particular character, but it's in most of the street scenes all through the series. I tend to spot it right away since so few of them were imported to the USA. More info and photos here:

Hi chrisbcritter,
thanks for the info.
Very interresting for me. But I think to get a "Humber Super Snipe" in 1/43 is hard. We'll see.
My newest Projekt is the "Ice Cream Van" from Mr. Freeze.
I will introduce here when I've got it ready.

Does anybody has pictures of the "Bookworm Van" or the black "Emergency Car" seen in the Bookworm chapter, when the police is trying to open the giant cookbook.
Thanks
Rainer

Same truck in the background with new sign; the one in the foreground (which was also used as the Mr. Freeze truck, note studio inventory number 176 on the front fender) is identical except the color:

It's an International Harvester Metro Van.
