Green Hornet, as drawn by Ethan Van Sciver

Post by Mr. Comic Book »

I posted in the other topics forum about my misadventures at Detroit Fanfare this weekend and the terrific Norm Breyfogle Kirk sketch I got. Well, he wasn't the only '60s TV hero I got art of at the show.

I also had the opportunity to get a sketch from Ethan Van Sciver, of Green Lantern fame. This was my second go-round with him, having gotten a Space Ghost sketch from him three years ago. For this time out, he drew the Green Hornet for the very first time:

As it happens, he's drawn a lot of pulp heroes at cons, but neither of the Reid men (Britt or his great-great-uncle John) came his way until now. Maybe some day I'll get him to do a Lone Ranger piece, but we'll see what happens.

Anyway, he enjoyed doing this and I really like his take on the Hornet. I hope you do, too.

Nice work. Looks sort of like the Spirit, with the smaller, traditional face mask...
