Make sure you have a high definition TV to go with the bluray player, that is the best way to see the difference. If you don't have a high definition TV, then you're better off just getting the DVD's.

YES--to selection #2. Blu-Ray is the only way to go for a series with that kind of production standard.

My DVD player recently crapped out, not loading discs anymore, so I had to buy a new player, and picked up a Sony Blu-Ray/DVD player at Best Buy for $89, and it has wi-fi streaming capabilities to Netflix and whatever else. I bought this in anticipation of the Batman home video release.

It WILL be my first Blu-Ray purchase, because it is the #1 television show I've cared about in history, so I want it to be the best and most my experience can be. Great poll choice!

Most definitely. Will eventually probably buy two Blu-ray sets and keep one unopened while viewing the other. Heck, I'll probably buy the DVD set also just to be thorough and complete, especially if there are ANY content differences between the two format sets.
I've waited waaaaay too long for this release! $$$$, within reason, don't really matter. GIMME! GIMME! GIMME! :P

I will definitely get the Blu-ray, no question. These days however I've been going more to purchasing everything digitally - no clutter of boxes, no discs, no worrying if the discs will get scratched, and the piece of mind in knowing that I wont lose it! (I have three kids). If you have the right technology you can play the digital content on any device (tv, tablet, phone etc.) in full HD. For me personally this has become the best way to own and view everything.

That being said, I wonder if the "digital download" of the show will only be available if you purchase the Blu-ray set(?) I'm sure it will be available on iTunes which is probably where I'll get it. In most cases you still get all of the cool bonus features. So to contradict my first sentence, if I can digitally purchase all of the same content in full HD that I can get on the Blu-ray set, then I will forego buying the Blu-ray. UNLESS the Blur-ray set comes in some sort of super cool packaging that displays really nicely - or comes with a Batmobile or a tin or some other cool schwag! In that case, I'll just go broke I guess buying it all. Oy.
