Re: Custom Robin costume for NYCC
Well, my daughter's Robin costume got a last-minute pre-NYCC debut today. I had a batmobile gig in a local Italian-American Heritage Parade (formerly Columbus Day), and my daughter decided she wanted to go along as Robin. Smashing success! Absolutely beautiful fall day, an appreciative crowd, and my...

Custom Robin costume for NYCC
Well, I tossed this together for my daughter for New York Comic Con. She surprised me some time ago saying she wanted to be Robin to my Adam West Batman. I made the shoes months ago, but since then I've been too crazy busy to devote the time I normally give such things, so I tried to think of a shor...

Robin boots - what a pain!
Hello. Haven't been around much - life is a cruel taskmaster. But I thought I'd share this project. My teenage daughter has taken an abrupt liking to the classic show, and decided she wanted a Burt Ward Robin costume for cons, etc! Needless to say, I whipped out Chuck and Lynne's patterns for the li...

Thanks, Chuck. I appreciate that what you can offer is the best, and you know I've been a happy customer for years. Sadly, the quality of your work is outside my budgetary constraints at the moment.

Re: EEE-YOW! Help finding leotard/tights!
Have spent hours searching online. It's amazing to me that there are so many superhero cosplayers who use and are obviously buying bodysuits, but so many listings that have such inadequate - or even WRONG - info on them. Many have no fiber content, no description of the finish of the fabric - shiny ...

EEE-YOW! Help finding leotard/tights!
Hello, Batmen! I searched and searched here, but couldn't find an answer. My apologies if the info is lurking here somewhere not uncovered by me. So, cons are largely coming back. After languishing unworn for nearly two years, my undersuit is feeling shabby and needs replacing. Onstage Dancewear, ho...

Re: Looking for the “bomb” from the 66 movie
As you're doing this, remember that, if you REALLY want to be accurate, the bomb used in the movie was NOT really spherical - the bottom was flat. And it really didn't have a fuse - the sparks just flew out of the top cylinder.

Re: working on first Batman outfit :)
It all looks great! Look forward to seeing the final product. Tacking the inside seam allowances is to keep the layers from shifting. And you may find that over time, the satin will stretch/sag unevenly, just from its own weight, making odd bulges. But you can always go back and do some tacks after ...

A bit off topic, but it is.
You are obviously a professional, or a very skilled hobbyist. Everything looks great.
