Why didn't Burt Ward attend the bat-movie premiere?
Recently in our Patreon show "Bat Bits", we discussed the Austin, TX, premiere of BATMAN: THE MOVIE. It's clear from the coverage of the event that Burt Ward and Frank Gorshin didn't attend, and we haven't found any documentation explaining why. Presumably, Frank had a gig in Vegas, or maybe guesting on a TV show; it would be interesting to find out. But the bigger question is, where was Burt? Has anyone happened across any information on this? It may be that the only way to know would be to ask Burt ...

I read he was with his wife while his daughter was born at the time of the premiere.

That premiere would have been postponed had it taken place a few days later. The mass shooting at the U. of Texas by Charles Whitman killed 17 people and happened on Monday, August 1.
