Is HS a company or a customizer?
I'm not too fond of the idea of of taking one of the best cowl designs and implementing one of the worst elements of the modern designs (rubber) and putting them together-- even though it doesn't look like Adam's cowl (ears are all wrong, face is all wrong) it does look like a 60s style comic mask. Do we know if this is the final or are they/he planning on detailing it?

That's it Andy.
The fabric aspect of the '66 cowl understandably stymies the majority of modern cowl makers.

It said it was by Hernandez Studios. I assume it was all finished. I don't know if it was for sale.

Impressive looking piece but that would probably be hard to get on/off for some and most likely very hot to wear for long periods. Plus, the "look" can only be maintained by keeping your head straight on unlike fabric cowls like Chuck's which flex with movement.

Jan Kemp looked at the serials when he did Adam's cowl-- and it's as functional as it is beautiful.
The modern choice to go rubber was to match the fake muscles in the Keaton suit. Totally impractical and clumsy.
It seems like the go-to choice for an entire generation.
It is important to note that I've owned Chuck Cowls from the very beginning and they are still perfect things of beauty. Meanwhile the rubber Ogawa Studios cowls I bought in Japan deteriorated and fell apart, as rubber will.

The Ogawa cowl was pretty cool. Surprised yours wore out, Andy - the one I have looks fine still. It's no WS2 for sure but it captures the '66 look around the face better than Mattel. The biggest problem in terms of wearing it is that it was designed for smaller heads.

I’m confused as to why it’s considered a ‘66 cowl. It’s a completely different cowl, isn’t it? Not recognizable as a TV show cowl, “updated” or otherwise. I agree it looks more like a comic book cowl - and nothing wrong with that. Just a totally different animal from the 1966 TV show cowl.

Ugh, what’s next, a latex 66 outfit? More found here: https://www.hernandezefx.com/
The Modern 66
Sculpted in @maxonzbrush this piece was inspired by the old TV show but with a modern day twist. What if this version was done today? I took a lot of creative liberties on this one to make it feel as if it was made for the silver screen today and done in rubber instead of fabric and fiberglass.

So tired of black Batman costumes too while we’re griping.

He calls it a modern take on '66 Batman. I think it's pretty cool & it works as that.
I've entertained learning to do this kind of thing.
I lightened this pic showing more suit and played around with some color changes on the other.

Darn you Randy, you actually make it appealing in blue and gray!

I agree Lou. My first reaction was I didn't like the eyebrows, but when I went to add the white eyebrow lines, I could see better why he sculpted them that way.

Yours is a million times better, Randy-- but I still dislike the concept.
I'm with Lou-- no more rubber suited black batmen!
