Life sized comic Robin Display head

Post by Chuck Williams »

Hi All,

Having fun with water clay over the holiday and just started sculpting a comic influenced Robin, The Boy Wonder display head for my Robin costume...

No, not Burt Ward but it's fun and I've never sculpted him before so he was due!!

Looks great Chuck, I can already see him coming to life
But you do realize that we'll be expecting a lifesize Burt Ward head to go with your amazing Adam West sculpt ;)

Hey Chuck!
just 'having fun with water clay over the holiday...' eh?
In my case, I'd end up with a dirty pile of mud to clean up.
You, on the other hand, manage to build a piece of art.
Enough said!! LOL! :D
Take care mate,

It looks amazing Chuck! By the way, is the sculpt based on Jim Mooney solo Robin art from Star Spangled Comics?

Thanks,

John

Thanks Gang!!! :)

I'm still tracking down Burt Ward reference before I'm ready to produce a sculpture that I feel would be worthy.
He's a tough cookie in many ways sculpturally speaking!
I've even pondered sculpting Jill St.John for the display!!!
The hair for either begs for silicone skins which is another world.

Excellent eye John! Yes, he's inspired by Jim Mooney and the cover art of Win Mortimer.
Jim did some of my favorite Robin stories back in the day and Win's illustrations really hang together in 3D.

I'm having fun with him and can't believe I've not sculpted him before!
I'll keep you posted!
