Post by dell »

I am trying to make list of who snuck in or was allowed into the Batcave:

Criminals:
Catwoman
Penguin (movie)
King Tut

Good guys:
Commissioner Gordon

I'll attempt some sort of chronological order:

Molly
Lydia Limpett
Penguin
Dehydrated/Rehydrated Pirates
Joker
Venus
Catwoman
Commissioner Gordon
Batgirl
King Tut
Florence of Arabia
Suleiman

I think that pretty much covers them Ben. I cannot think of any others myself.

Riddler's moll Pauline was in the Batcave, too.

Pengy made it in twice. Once in the movie, and then again in the S2 three parter where he teamed with Joker. I think he's the only villain to have been in there twice.

Don't forget the henchmen of Joker, Penguin and King Tut. With Pauline, she was the only one who wasn't actually aware that she was in it.

Big mistake. Lorenzo Semple's "bible" for the show said no one enters the bat-cave and lives. I'd make allowances for Pauline who as mentioned earlier had no idea where she was. And for Commissioner Gordon, who was so thrilled he appeared to be about to pee his pants. Gordon deserved a look! For him, it was the realization of a dream.

A dream he re-lived in the Siren episode, even if he was in a trance.

That's it! Pauline was the one Moll niggling at the back of mind that I couldn't recall, well done Chum!

One thing I never noticed until re-watching the episodes in original-airdate order: Bookworm's turn and Riddler's silent movie caper gave us two batcave interrogations of molls on consecutive weeks. What's odd about that is the different truth extraction methods used in each case: Lydia Limpet was hooked up to the Hypermetric Lie-Detector, while Pauline had her breath swirled into truth-revealing chemicals. I was too young to have been a continuity nerd when I first watched them, but I imagine the unexplained change in procedures would have bugged some fans.

I don't think of that as a mistake. Merely showing Batman has various ways of gleaning the information he requires.

Correct!! And because Batman and Robin had a HUGE and dangerous history with the Riddler, Batman had Commissioner Gordon along with Pauline to make sure he didn't do something that could bounce back on him in court. Riddler sure loved to mess with Robin.

Don't forget the Scooby Doo gang. They gave Batman & Robin a lift to the Batcave in the Mystery Machine.
