Indy awesome con... Accomodations

Need advice. Thinking of hotels but the hotel I'm looking at charges 14 for internet and 30 a day to park. But it's right onside and walking distance. Anyone know what parking costs will be like downtown if I stay at a cheaper hotel and drive in?

I was just in Indy for the MotoGP weekend. The town was packed with several events, but the parking was still only $5 in most places that are walking distance. Lots of good hotels such as LaQuinta, Hampton Inn, etc within just a few miles of downtown. Indy is easy to get around and once parked, very easy to walk.
