Found this Florida news interview from Monday:

I just wish he'd stop saying he'll do anything for money to pay the mortgage and such. In looking up his net worth, he's pretty darned well off. I saw somewhere that he appeared on a show on Fox called Cashin' In because he's a savvy investor. Did anybody happen to see this appearance?

Perhaps he should say he needs to pay his mortgages.

Britt Kennerly: Batman, at age 84, loves the absurd
Aug. 20, 2013
In between writing stories about Social Security and online scams and covering other issues of aging, I mark off time to talk to interesting, older characters.
Like a couple of weeks ago, when I met 84-year-old Margarette Kirsch, who went on Spike TV’s “Ink Master” and got a phoenix tattooed on her back.
And like Monday, when I chatted with Batman. Yes, the Batman, Adam West (sorry, all you movie pretenders).
He, too, is 84. His voice is deep, growly and wonderful, even when it’s giving life to the kind-of-perverted, childlike Mayor Adam West on “Family Guy.”
We talked about how he’s reaching a new generation of fans through “Family Guy” and a gig as celebrity spokesman for Neebo, online retailer and nationwide network of college stores.
And of course, we talked the campy, built-on-many-levels “Batman,” and the actors West worked with over the show’s three seasons in the mid-1960s. Burgess Meredith, a.k.a. The Penguin. Frank Gorshin, the Riddler, whose work West describes as “on the manic edge.”
“Working with people like that as a younger guy, an actor running around in a cape and cowl and tights, was a challenge,” said West, who was in Orlando on Monday for a stop at UCF.
“And I loved it. You stand face to to face with them, you better be at your best.”
When romantic movie work didn’t pan out post-Batman — “They said, ‘Oh, no. She can’t be in bed with Batman,’ ” West said — he decided he was “being stupid” not to embrace his Caped Crusader fame and voiceover offers.
“I am the luckiest guy in the world,” he said. “Not many actors get a chance to create an iconic character. There are only a few of us left around who’ve done that.”
He loves meeting fans from teens to boomers and beyond, and through Neebo, is appearing at universities nationwide.
“I put six kids through college and I mean, it’s big-time expense,” said West, a graduate of Whitman College in his native Washington.
“Kids get their loans and it takes them years to pay it back. Neebo beats anybody’s price ... if I can help the people in colleges and universities save a little money, that’s a good thing.”
West relishes his “Family Guy” work as Mayor West, too, saying he and show creator Seth MacFarlane have the same kind of comic sensibilities.
“ ‘Family Guy’ is really theater of the absurd. I like the absurdities of life,” West said. “All I really do with that character is try to magnify the quirkier or stranger aspects of life that I love.”
So how important is it for this pop culture icon to stay active and involved?
“I think you’ve just hit on the part of life that’s extremely important as you get older,” West said.
“Because if you don’t stay involved and curious, and have a sense of humor and some wit about yourself and the world around you, I think it’s debilitating.
“You feel like, ‘Well, I think tomorrow I’m going to walk out in the bush and just sit on a rock and go away.’ It’s a terrible attitude, isn’t it? Because life has given us so much wonderful stuff.”
And about stuff, I asked: Does he use the current high-tech tools Batman would have adored, like camera-taking phones with global positioning powers?
“Not a lot. I leave that to other people. I do have an iPad and the phones ... I don’t tweet, Twitter, all those things very often,” he said.
“I try not to, what’s it called, text, right? The buttons are too small.”
Toward the end of our chat, I gave up any pretense of being a seasoned journalist. I told him about the song my brother, Mike, and I used to sing back when I was wearing an “I’m a Batman Fan” pin to school.
And I blurted it out: “Swinging on a rubber band, along came Superman, threw him in the garbage can: Batman!”
West laughed. Out loud. Reminded me that I can get the new Adam West Batman doll.
“You’re great,” he said. “It was fun being with you, believe me.”
“Holy Headline,” I whispered to myself, only then realizing I hadn’t even asked about Robin. “Batman said I’m great.”
The Batman, mind you. The Batman.
