Re: Batman 66 Halloween costumes
Wow, the necklace and belt look surprisingly good! And the bodysuit DOES have a collar, unlike the prototype pix Rubies put out. The mask looks terrible, but no surprise there, and the fingernails on the gloves made me laugh out loud!
Thanks so much for posting all these incredibly helpful pics, 44wise.
Three of the signature looks of this costume seem to be pretty well realized - the bodysuit, the necklace, and the belt. I think for my display purposes, this is a great place to start, and I will order it (if I can find a small in stock - they are hard to find!).

Cat woman seems to be the best of the lot, although I'd still like to see it on somebody. I'm not a costume person but if they made a cat henchman shirt and hat I'd wear that and get this for the Mrs.

Thanks for the info and pix. Mine came and luckily the trunks are much more snug, they actually look fine. Unfortunately, the chest emblem is literally sewn so far off to the right of center, it is in front of my shoulder - and tilted at about 60%!Batfanman wrote:And finally, 1 picture with a GH cape & CW cowl, 1 pic with the CW cape & CW cowl & a comparative against the GH stock promo photo. Cowl is the same as your description. I found a round bottom bowl to rest it over, hopefully some of the creases will fade.
Cape is good, gloves are indeed short and tight on the fingers but will suffice. Boot covers are tight but will work. Belt is pretty cool. Helps give it the "66" look and helps hide some of the nip and tuck adjustments needed.
No more X-Large were available when I called costumesupercenter.com for an exchange, so I will attempt to move the chest emblem myself.
I'm an amateur and have no idea how I'll do it - my first thought is to carefully cut the thread and use either velcro if maybe some fabric glue or adhesive? Any tips are welcome! Also - the bottom of the cowl "flares" out to the sides- any suggestions on how to improve it? It's really too short to tuck it into the cape.
Re: Batman 66 Halloween costumes
You could probably have a local tailor move the emblem for less than $20 - I sent mine out to have it moved and to also have a bat-fly installed. Not sure what to say about the cowl, you are going to be moving around all the time so any fix may come undone.

Thank you for posting these photos. WOW! That suit is SO BAGGY? What size did you order?
I was considering buying the costume but IF I do, maybe I should buy a small?
What size are you height/weight and what size did you buy? Does it stretch? Spandex or polyester?
Best part of the Batman costume is the belt, cowl, and gloves (or at least it appears that way?) Those trunks are awful.
The Riddler one does not look too bad though?

Re: Batman 66 Halloween costumes
There's only 2 sizes - Standard & X-Large. I have the Standard. The tags say the unitard, cape, gloves are 100% Polyester. The cowl is a combination of foam & polyester. The unitard does stretch. Here's my rating of the individual pieces from best to worst:
1 Unitard
2 Cape
3 Belt
4 Trunks
5 Boot-Toppers
6 Gloves
7 Cowl
I'm betting the gloves vary from costume to costume. If you get a good pair that aren't misc. tight in fit from finger to finger, I'd move them to the #5 position.
Separately, the emblem looks very good and is well made. Not placed uniformly on every costume, so it seems so far.
So, the big question you all ask is: "Should I get this?" If it is all you can do for now, yes, why not? It is not totally AW in appearance (or the stock shot GH used, that's for sure) but it isn't Ben Cooper either. Right now, it's the best that has been done for an affordable price.
The real downside is the cowl - if it had been treated better for shipping and was better constructed overall, the rest of the suit flaws could easily be overlooked or not noticed at all.

Re: Batman 66 Halloween costumes
Finally saw this Grand Heritage Rubies line in a temp Halloween store today. None of the 66 line though, just movie Batman. Just wanted to mention that it's worth checking if you pass one of those stores...I didn't think they were available at retail at all.
Re: Batman 66 Halloween costumes
As promised....a few pics of the GH Catwoman. I think it actually really good for the price.

*thanks to Will for the awesome cowl*

I definitely think the model helps sell the costume, Sparkey.

I wish that Batman costume was not so baggy or I'd buy it. I'm thinking, maybe I should buy it anyway and buy a separate form fitting batman gray catsuit and combine the too. I SO want to be a 1966 Batman at least once.

Re: Batman 66 Halloween costumes
I tried the cowl on again last night from the GH suit and about the only way you can stop the flaring from the sides would be to secure the excess skirting in the back so that it fits more snugly. I think that you'd need some assistance for this, as you need to be wearing it and have someone neatly gather the skirting and perhaps install Velcro to hold the fabric back and keep it neat in appearance from behind. The AW/CW cowls have the fiberglass shell to control this problem; here the material just hangs with no backing and is too short to drape down far enough to fall over your back and shoulders like a AW/CW cowl. It still gives an acceptable AW look straight on from the front.antman67 wrote:I wish that Batman costume was not so baggy or I'd buy it. The trunks are a bit baggy - it's just an excess of material (on me, apparently) it will probably look different on each person. I tried them on again today and pulled them up tight. Got a smoother look but I can tell that with the unitard on, I'll be adjusting for creases there as the leg holes do fit very snug. The one-size-fits-all concept does have it's down side. Comparing them to the stock photo, it's just clear they didn't make them the way we expected and that's really too bad. Gloves, too.
Overall, I think the gray unitard isn't that bad - it is comfortable and it stretches to conform. It does show a few creases on me - again, mostly in the legs because of the elastic bands on the leg holes. I imagine that walking around in the suit will constantly affect appearance of this issue.
