Thank you! I have been through the emotional wringer these past weeks. My eBay purchase of a set of Clark Kent, Perry White, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen (all 8" action figure customizing fodder) was supposedly delivered and signed for on March 7. But the only parcel that day was the "Bat Bad Girls" album from Argentina! Since the parcel was "signed for", according to Australia Post, I doubt PayPal would have reversed the funds and caused a loss to the seller. It certainly wasn't HIS fault.

I've had a "lost parcel" trace on it since last Friday - and tonight a neighbour from an adjacent street brought over my (opened, but intact) parcel! Same house number, wrong street! An honest, if tardy, neighbour. Whew!

So now 8" Commissioner Gordon is born!

King Tut and my newly customised 8" Commissioner Gordon action figure. I found the sarcophagus today at a collectors' fair. Gordon is a modified Perry White figure in Brian's grey suit (from "Anchorman").

Neila, although there has not been a commercially-available Janice Rand in the 8" scale. Playmates did a 5", though.

Holy Memory Loss!
I got a Janice Rand one some years ago, Ian.....it may have been a pirate version, but I had the late Grace Lee sign it for me. Darned Ex-kept that too. you might try some of the Mego based websites to get one custom made.
BTW, did You get my ? about the Luna Monopoly? P.M. me, if You would when You get a chance, please?

It's a shame that the company couldn't find its way to making the Barbra doll's hips to be more realistically shaped. I've seen other dolls of the same size where they are correctly shaped. It's too bad that they didn't take a cue from Hasbro's "G.I.Jane" 12" figure, or any of the 2"+ figures to get the hip area correct. Maybe the company was under a severe deadline to get it out? Other than that, not too bad!

I was trying to be polite, but I think that they know better as well. After doing some further research, I have found that the late, lamented "Action Jackson" action figure had better joints. It also had a "Scramble" Pilot outfit equal to the 12" G.I.Joe version. The point is, that if it could be done then, it should be done now.

I've been able to rectify the hips on my Beach Babe Barbara figure. It's the standard female torso - exactly like female 8" Megos of the 70s but with "friction nodules" to prevent slippage. The hip joint is deliberately designed to be either wide or narrow. Some of the Barbaras and Batgirls have joints (and knees) which are "stuck". The little nodules on the upper thigh are seemingly melted against the inner edge of the hip hole. Just jiggle with a little force to loosen and reset the hips to the narrow setting.

Hi Ian, I agree that this is the 70's joints and while that may have been acceptable then, it is not now. That is why I was suggesting that they work out a new, more realistic upper portion of the hips. Just so You know I'm not criticizing You, my Friend, I appreciate what You have done. I absolutely enjoy seeing how You've done the figures. In fact, it has got me interested in in doing some variations of my own.

Sure, thanks, but I am seeing - across the Internet in recent days - people slamming the Batgirl figure for its hip joint, but they don't seem to realise that almost every female 8" figure since the days of Mego have used the same torso/hips. They are saying the Batgirl was "rushed into production", which might well apply to a poor face sculpt, or a costume design or bad fabric choice, but not the actual hip joint itself.
