Why create "new" villains? There are several from Batman's universe that have not been portrayed in either movies or the TV show, or that would be worth using on a new version of the TV series.

Part two of the great Scarecrow story by Clavierankh tomorrow morning (UK time)

Hope you enjoyed Night of the Scarecrow and will enjoy part two tomorrow.

I wanted it to feel a bit like the False Face story, somewhat intense not like Shame's fear gas.

I'm a frustrated writer but I don't have the discipline to sit down and write, but I can come up with plots. Most of the time when I try to devise a Batman plot I end up with Gotham City in ruins and the duo in an impossible situation. The hardest thing to do is come up with a plot that could be produced on a budget.

I tried to fo that with this story. I also tried to use familiar elements from the series. In seasons one and two the first part of episodes usually followed a pattern.:

The villain makes an appearance

The Commissioner and the Chief decide they need Batman

In Wayne manner Bruce and Dick are together. Usually Dick is working on his studies. And often the topic pertains to the upcoming adventure. Such a Dick studying civics as the Penguin is running for mayor or practicing bird calls at the start of the Puzzler episode. The bird calls help save their lives later.

The greeting at the Commissioner's office then a scene at the villains lair. When we are seeing a villain for the first time these scenes introduce him to us and give us some back story.

I tried to use these elements in the story to keep it a traditional episode.

You say you dont have the discipline,however you have conjured up a great story,and one with a villain never realised in a live action show, so congratulations.
Your format is traditional and superb, and one I do use but I just dont always have room to show it(maybe I should).
I like the idea of a pre-title sequence(like every other show now) with an unrelated villain/situation(usually) which can showcase a villain which might not warrant a full 2 episodes.(or a test to see if they work)
In terms of budget,I am pretending that we have a pretty good budget as the cast list is decent and CBS/BBC both jointly fund it.
Remember,keep that discipline and churn out that Joker story,no rush-hes not due to pop back just yet,a few more stories time.
And any other villains you wanna go for,please do......

Fright of the Scarecrow

Batman continues to thrash in fear but suddenly settles down
“Hang on old chum! They couldn’t tie me tight because I was thrashing! I’ll be out of the ropes in a moment!”
He slips his bonds and pulls Robin off the conveyor just before he would have been fed in.
Later in the Batcave:
“Batman, Scarecrow said that stuff would last at least another half hour, maybe something is wrong with his formula.”
“No old chum. One of man’s great abilities is the ability to overcome his fear. That’s what I did?”
“Why were you afraid of scarecrows?”
“When I was a boy my parents took me to my uncle’s farm. One day I got locked in a shed. It was several hours before my parents found me. In the shed was a hideous scarecrow my uncle had used. That experience combined with meeting a real life Scarecrow must have brought that fear to the fore. But it’s over now. We must determine Scarecrow’s next move.”
Meanwhile in Commissioner Gordon’s office:
The Scarecrow barges in. He explained. some police tried to stop him be he sprayed them with Fright Mist.
He sprays Gordon,O’Hara and Basch. He tells them Batman is dead and he won’t be able to stop this evenings revels. As he leaves the men cower in fear. Gordon moaning Batman is dead, what will become of our city! We’re doomed!

Back in the Batcave Batman snaps his fingers.
“That voice! I remember it! Bruce Wayne is a minority stockholder in Gotham Biochemical Laboratories. I think I met him on a tour last year!” He dials the phone “Hello Gotham Biochemical Laboratories? This is Batman. Let me speak to Dr. Syn.” Doctor Syn is seated in his office. On his desk a name plate says Patrick Syn M.D. Director.
“Hello Batman?”
“Doctor is a man named Crane still working there? “
“Jonathan Crane? No we had to let him go a few months ago. He was using lab equipment for his own experiments in inducing fear. Why?”
“ I think he is the Scarecrow who has been terrorizing Gotham City!”
“Good grief. As far as we know there is no antidote for his formula.!”
“Thank you doctor” Hangs up “To the Commissioner’s office”

In the Scarecrows hideout Fraidy looks at her boss admiringly. “Wow Batman and Robin Dead, the police scared now what?”
“Now my dear it is time for our big score and enough money to buy my own private island so I can continue my work undisturbed. “
“What aboss boss?” asks Fright
“Don’t worry my felonious frightsters you will be well paid. Soon it it will night again and time for action.”
In the Commissioner’s office Gordon, O’Hara and Basch are in chairs recovering from the Fright Mist.
“Is there no way to stop him?” Gordon moans. “At least your still alive. He said you wouldn’t be around for the evening’s revels.”
“He said something like that last night when we were tied to the de-cobber” Robin says ”He said I have to make another batch of Fright Mist before the revels end!”
Batman muses “Revels, revels end? I’ve got it! ‘Our revels now have ended and our little lives are rounded with a sleep. ‘ The Tempest Act 4 Scene 1. A play by William Shakespeare! It is one of a dozen Shakespeare first folios going on display at the Gotham Cultural Museum tonight! They’re worth over ten million dollars. Quite a prize for our fearsome friend”
Robin ”That must be his goal!”
The duo rushes out of the office.
At the museum the scarecrow has already struck. Two guards and the curator are on the floor groveling. One screaming Spiders,spiders! The other guard screaming I’m drowning! The curator moaning. My mother-in-law she’s alive!”
The duo rushes in.

“Surrender you fiend!” Batman shouts. Scarecrow sprays batman with Fright Mist. Batman is undaunted. “I’ve overcome my fears you fiend!” He sprays at Robin who holds up a powerful min batfan and sprays it back at him. Scarecrow gasps at his men “Get them!”
Fright, Terror and others battle the duo but are dispatched. As the fight eds Gordon comes in with O’hara and Bach. O’Hara and Basch are restraining Fraidy. “We caught her trying to run out O’hara explains.
“What happened to him?” asks Gordon looking at Scarecrow . Scarecrow is on the floor flailingaround exclaiming. “Bats, bats they are everywhere!”
“He was hit by his own Fright Mist” says Batman “Poor fellow PPrently suffers from Chiroptophobia, a fear of bats”
“I’d say that fear was well founded” says Gordon


Epilogue

In Gordon’s office Batman, Robin, Gordon, O’ Hara, and Basch watch as Scarecrow and his gang aare taken out of the office. Gordon says “They be away for a long while. Thanks to you Batman”
“All in a day’s work Commissioner”
“That dose of Fright Mist made me realize how much I fear for Gotham City if anything happened to you two.”
“Nonsense COMMISIONER Chief O’Hara nad is fine force could take care of Gotham City without us. We just try to help a bit. Remember we have nothing to fear but fear itself!”.

I had an idea that False Face would definately be ? for part one and then said featured actor(or maybe not)
I had originally wanted a different actor for each visit, and maybe a really BIG star (The 2 Toms, Russell etc) or one of our regular villain actors.
What's a bi name?(Am I being stupid?)
