I am so sorry to hear about your wife and what you have been going through for all of these years. I know you will be a changed man with this loss but don't give up on the little things that have brought you joy in life like your collection. You need stuff like that to help you get through it. I know that stuff is just stuff but I hope being surrounded by them will help in some way. Remember you have friends here too and most if us are in the same age bracket and share similar experiences in life.
With all that said, I do feel for you and will add you and yours to my prayers!
Thank you rasffle,

I appreciate your kind words and advice. I really hope Batman can bring me out of it as he did in other low moments of my life, although they weren't as low as this.

Yellow Oval.

YO, I saw your message right after you posted it. I immediately started typing a response, hoping to give some comfort or help to make sense of what happens in life. I quickly realized that words were failing me, and I stopped, filled with regret that I was unable to add any ease to a another person’s pain. I know, however, that the members on this board understand your loss, have compassion and wish the best for you. And we will agree with Randy that the happiness of our childhood memories, which we seek to preserve in the small joys we get from collecting, have a purpose. They will not fill a void. But if they even bring a single smile to an otherwise unbearable day, that purpose is served.

God bless and guide you.

Thank you, BiffPow. I really appreciate you taking the time to convey your words. It's a big adjustment - kind of like trying to get your bearings after slamming into a brick wall at 100 MPH. Time has been taken up doing the legal paperwork, waiting through various agencies' auto-phone menus, and conversing with family and friends. For anyone interested this is her memorial page with her photo. I know no one here knew her but just to allow anyone to have a visual image.

One of her biggest thrills was a few years back at an Ottawa ComicCon when she and I met Julie Newmar. She agreed that Julie was still an amazingly beautiful and classy woman and had a certain hypnotic, almost supernatural power in her eyes. My wife said Julie was the ultimate Catwoman and was her favorite character when she watched the show as a little girl back in the '60s. My wife always bought me Batman gifts - especially '66 items whenever she had the chance. She always said Adam was the only Batman and Chris Reeve was her ideal for Superman.

As this thread was originally about Crazy Foam I will say that I badly wanted the originals I saw for sale back in the '70s. Now, it's just soap, but as a kid it was the wildest thing and came in a can with Batman and Robin to boot! Who wouldn't have wanted it back then? The '70s were great for wild things back then. I remember one Halloween a friend's mother made him a great Spider-Man costume and his dad helped fasten two cans of Silly String under his hands and wrists. Man, all the rest of us were amazed and envious at the same time.
