I’ve never heard of Klaus Janson before. But I can see why he was able to ink Gene Colan’s pencils. Styles aren’t really similar but there’s a sketchiness to them that feels similar.
I would say Janson drew and inked in a way that’s similar to Bernie Wrightson’s sketches. Maybe smash Wrightson and Colan together, just based on what I saw in your article.
Always interesting and new. I won’t say I’m persuaded on Janson, as I see errors of symmetry and form, but it’s informative. Well done.
