How vintage was the interview with Adam?

In the interest of saving some space, I consolidated these FanSets' pins into pairs. Also displayed are three cool pins from H+S (HeAndShe Pins).
I also bit the bullet and picked up some "Teen Titans" FanSets pins:

Numerous Titans teams are represented, plus a few characters from "Batman: The Animated Series".
"Holy nostalgia, Batman!"

The interview is from 1992-- it's got some good insights and you'll get more than the typical "Catwoman caused strange stirrings in my utility belt" that most interviews feature. The issue has a lot of Batman in it-- it also delves into The Phantom and his creator Lee Falk.
I'd recommend it as I do any TwoMorrows Publishing title. I buy the digital copies from them.

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?
There are a few covers from that mid-60s run of Batman and Detective that have a sort of spooky feel to them-- I try to hunt those down in really nice condition. This one is really striking with the Bat phone. Story doesn't hold up but few of the 60s ones really did.

I remember reading some of those stories. Covers are so recognizable. Like everything else, there was a style that just pulled you in.

I still read the bottom part of that cover as, "Where Batman are Robin?"
Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?
“Where are Batman Robin?”
Where is conjunction?
“Not even they know!”
Only their hairdresser knows for sure.

Someday I'm going to post what I consider to be the best covers of the 1960s Batman.
Well, finally got this-- I've been posting about it in the Off Topic Section-- custom 1/6 scale Batman figure-- I think it's a total home run, even comes with a very detailed raygun.

This is where he and the other serial figures I'm sure to get will be sitting in my studio.
The color really pops.

Wow! You’re right, it really is a great figure and the color does pop! One of the better, if not the best, “other“ Batmen I’ve seen. (You know, the imposter Batmen.)

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?
My obsession with serials goes way back to my very early teens-- I bought a VHS player back in 1980 when they were $1500 a piece because a local comic shop/video store special ordered grey market videotapes of all the classic serials for $90/ea! Needless to say working part time as a photographer's assistant made that an expensive summer.
Over the years I've commissioned artisans to do a Lew Wilson figure for me-- I got Vin's Universe to make the Mego he offers (and it's quite nice) but I've long liked 1/6 scale better. I've gotten 3-4 Wilson figures and all were very good, but not good enough for me to keep when I would do my semi annual purge. This one nails it for me. I would have never thought a sculpted fabric cowl would work but it does.

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?
My love of the 43 Batman serial began in the 60s as a child when my cousin would show the Columbia home movie 8mm films of it in the long dark hallway of his house.
As a young adult i too bought one of the early VCRs for $1500. There were no video stores and you had to special order movies. My first one? The serial King of the Rocketmen for $99 (years later to be found in gricery store bins for $4.99).
Then i got hooked up with the late Rex Miller at Supermantiques and bought grainy 3rd generation unlicensed copies of all the serials, Batman, Green Hornet, Captain Marvel, etc.for $99 each.
Back then they were an incredible find and treasured. Now 40 years later they sit in a cardboard box in my backyard storage building.

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?
Yes, I remember those days of VCRs and VHS tapes all too well. My parents bought our first VCR. They got a “bargain“ from the original Pieratt’s store at, as I recall, $1280 plus tax, or somewhere in that range.
By the time I got out of law school, a local video store was selling used VHS. I started first with James Bond movies and then bought the Flash Gordon and Batman serials, in that order. Since these were used, I think they were closer to $70 and under for the first few VHS tapes I purchased. That was a steal, compared to renting the film reels. Now, you can buy them at HPB for under a dollar. Maybe even as low as $.25 apiece, when they have them.
Had many 8 mm/super 8 mm and 16 mm Castle films, and dozens that were older that I would find in antique shops (including a Buck Rogers reel) but I don’t think I had the Batman one. I do remember it. In fact, there was a three minute super eight Batman serial at the local Half Price bookstore just last month. It caught my attention, but I did not purchase because I have no idea where my old projectors are, or if they would even still work (although, admittedly, there’s not much to go wrong with them other than finding the right bulb).
Had several different 16 mm projectors, including even the old hand crank ones. Had at least two 8mm/super 8 mm projectors. One where the reels were upright, and another that loaded the film flat, and looked like a slide projector deck. I had multiple cameras, including the old Keystone keywinds, but only used the “modern” film cameras with the preloaded film cassettes to make movies.
Wow. In some ways, that doesn’t seem like very long ago. In other ways, two lifetimes (more accurate, unfortunately).

I used to buy from Rex Miller too. He'd get you on the phone sometimes (I think he was often making sure you weren't in some agency chasing video pirates) before he'd sell you his most cherished stuff.
In those day, video was very grey-- studios didn't want or think there was any value in old vault items.
