I did not know that, or I would have tried to visit. But we had other things on the itinerary (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, etc.) and limited time.

I was there in 1988 for the "International Superman Exposition", It was a great time, I met a lot of the Superman family, Kirk Alyn, Jack Larson, and Noel Neill. Met up with my friend Curt Swan again, he was a great guy and a super artist. Met and became friends with fellow collector Jim Bowers of Caped Wonder fame. Finally met face to face with long time corresponding collectors and friends, the Late Jim Hambrick, John Fields, and Danny Fuchs. We had a good time meeting up and went to dinner together. I also had the rare privilege of meeting another great artist the late George Perez. At that time they were trying to raise money for a Superman statue, the original concept is very different from the one that they finally built and commemorated this past year in Aug 2025.
As to an earlier discussion of the Phantom, Lee had originally wanted to call him the Gray Ghost and his costume was to be Gray and Black. (Maybe the black stripes would have helped camouflage him in the jungle?) his costume has changed color through out the world but not the pattern.

Wilson figure arrived. I have no words. As someone who spends a lot of time around high end figures this one really blows me away-- it looks so much better in person I won't post more pics, they don't capture it. High end quality work. I'm sending pics to two of the big figure houses to show them the figure can be done right.
Up next? I'm not sure.
