Ben Cooper DC Costume Kids Diorama

Post by Jczernich »

Part 1 of my Halloween Diorama story!

Diorama and staging by me. All figures and their accessories by NECA.

Happy Halloween Week and come back here tomorrow for part 2!

It’s Halloween 1989.

A group of friends take a shortcut through the woods while trick or treating. Nothing dangerous about that, right?

They are not alone!

That’s fun! Here’s hoping Supes, WW, Batman and Batgirl give ol’ Nosferatu a good de-clawing. (Sorry, but I’m suspicious of the Joker, who probably suggested they take that route.)

Or at least a makeover. As my dad would have said: “he looks like he’s been hit with an ugly stick.”

What’s this?! Attacked by vampires!!!!!!

"Count Orlok!"

"Count Dracula!"

"Another Count Dracula?! Which is the true Dracula? Does it even matter?!"

"The Vampire in the Beaver Hat! Is he more than he appears to be?"

Bats: “How would you like your STAKES?!”

BIFF! POW!! CRuuUNCH!!!

Supes: “Well done.”

(BTW, the expression on Nosferatu‘s face looks like he’s trying to remember if he turned off the gas stove.)

Here it is! Part 3 and the conclusion of my Halloween Diorama story!

Diorama and staging by me. All figures and their accessories by NECA.

Happy Halloween Week and come back here tomorrow for bonus pictures!

Wait! Help has arrived! It’s Professor Van Helsing and his makeshift candleholder cross!

And the Vampire in the Beaver Hat isn’t really a vampire! He’s Professor Burke, an old ally of Professor Van Helsing! He was working undercover! Their crosses are driving off the deadly coven of vampires!

The kids are safely protected behind the professors!

Even the big, bad vampire bat is on the run!

Thank goodness the kids all survived safe and sound!

Or did they?

I KNEW the Joker was behind taking them on that route. You can tell from that look in the last panel. 😁

Fun staging, and I like the leaves, fog and miniature trees.

This was awesome! Great memories of the early '70s Halloween evening outings - fortunately minus the classic vampire cameos. If they'd shown that would've sucked! Too bad the Charlie Brown 'trick or treat' gang didn't stop by to help defend. Linus could've summoned the Great Pumpkin and Charlie Brown could've swung his bag of rocks. Maybe next year...
"Hmmm... I don't like the twist this joke is taking. Let us away! Let us away!"
