Re: Aurora Batman Repro Model Kit?
Wow those are nice. That’s an interesting fact- order a dozen kits, get a factory assembled kit.
Some days you just can't get rid of a ... SHARK!
Re: Aurora Batman Repro Model Kit?

I want to apologize for my rambling previous posts. Here’s the 1974 version, that I was going to convert to the 1964 kit. I decided against that idea and went ahead and built it as the comic scenes version.
As previously suggested, I also bought a partially built 1964 Aurora kit that I am going to restore. I still intend to make one somewhat close to the box photo. I realize now that that photo is of a model with an unpainted body!
Anyway, here’s to the “comic scenes” version! Oh, and I did add sound to the back of the display case. Press a button and a clip plays.

Re: Aurora Batman Repro Model Kit?
This kit is a 1974 stock build. The video shows one of the sound clips I installed on the circuit. My next model will be the restored 1964 kit. Then, I’ll have two!

Here’s a clip from a Batman Power Records intro. Seemed appropriate. “Detective music”!!
Re: Aurora Batman Repro Model Kit?
Great stuff- I have a vintage '64 painted kit that was sent to me by a good friend here on the boards, it's a prized possession. I actually prefer the round chest emblem. After the '74 re-release there was also an early 80s release which had the same body but a new headsculpt-- the box actually mentioned a Batman Movie coming soon (ended up like nine years later). I think it might have been labeled Super Powers.

Thanks, Andy!
I prefer the original kit with the owl, embossed symbol, and “BATMAN” lettering on the tree. Trying to restore those onto the ‘74 kit was too hard so I just abandoned the idea and put it together. I am not completely satisfied with how it came out. The body suit was supposed to have a blue sheen, which is barely does.

It just came out silver. I sprayed it with flat clear and that brought out the blue and dulled the silver sheen but only temporarily.
Ok - I got one more shot at this. I’m going to do what I can for the sad, already assembled ‘64 kit I bought from eBay.

He looks pretty good as-is! As you know, the Aurora kits didn’t always fit together that well. It looks like a 10 year old guy assembled and painted Batman, and he got those parts together nicely!. I almost don’t want to alter it. Whoever made it would likely be in his ‘70s now. I’m going to make it look a little better with replacement bats, batarang and some cleaning up.
I have to unglue the body in order to fix that missing front piece. Reportedly, the bottle of stuff will do it. Some pieces must be unglued. This will be another Bat-adventure!
