The Dynamic Duo, FINALLY together again!
HI All,
I finally put the Robin figure together (minus boot) for it's first images with the Batman figure.
It's been fun and I'm happy the determined look on Burt reads well compared to the more relaxed Adam expression.
It's hard not to photograph it from every angle I remember from the show!
The light grey will be matte white soon for a museum look with fully painted heads to switch out in the wings.
I'll also add a freshly dyed t-shirt to Robin that is darker and matches the trunks. This shirt is matched to Mark Hardeman's suit. Moving the collar hook and eye to close it up more as well for a first season look...
I still don't have an Ultimate cowl!! This is a cosplay cowl I borrowed from the shipping table that is going out next week!
It's been a long road from my Action Boy Robin costume stuffed with tissues!

Flat out, incredible, Chuck!! Great skill in capturing Burt's likeness and thanks for not making him look like a doofus but like a determined hero. This makes your work a work of art. Octave Marbot couldn't have done any better.

I cannot even imagine the Cheshire Cat-like grin you must have when you walk into your studio and see the lads.

Chuck, this looks awesome! One thing I noticed is how much difference wardrobe can make as in this instance, with the green Peter Pan boots Robin would look ready for action, but with the black slippers and hands on his hips, he looks like he's ready to tap out a number from Riverdance.

"Hmmm... I don't like the twist this joke is taking. Let us away! Let us away!"

I see the boy wonder hasn’t received his “shrinking” medicine yet.
Really great work!

Words escape me Chuck. You and Lynn have done it again. I imagine I would be taking non stop selfies with the Duo. Life sized action figures? New goal unlocked!!

Waist up home run-- maybe its the shoes but I never noticed Burt has my wife's legs.

Re: The Dynamic Duo, FINALLY together again!
I don't quite understand.
The proportions are what I was interested in and Burt is "long waisted" as we used to call it. The images here show it before I did the majority of the work. Just the overall proportional height.
Seeing the tops of the feet does muck with the look quite a bit.
Later, I thickened up the ankles a bit and enlarged the feet, but I had spent most the time getting the overall proportions correct and I was ready to be done with it. At least the legs were symmetrical on this form!
It would never be a Madame Tussauds figure.
Without a budget, I did the best I could.
Thanks for the kind words Guys!!

Once again the images posted sideways but are straight when clicked on.

OK, Chuck, I’m going to nitpick just a tiny bit but only because I know you are a perfectionist.
Comparing your mannequin to the life-size stand up, I noticed the laces to the vest in relation to the patch placement. In the life-size standup, the fifth lace down is approximately center with the “R” patch. On your mannequin, it looks to be the sixth lace down that is closest to the center of the patch. And, just eyeballing it, it does seem to be a smidgen lower than on the cardboard stand up.
Having said that, I’m guessing there are other photos of Burt’s costumes that show the patch placed elsewhere.
Just wanted to throw that little observation in.

It moved around like most everything else. The placement of ours is the same as the Hardeman vest.BiffPow wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 9:55 am OK, Chuck, I’m going to nitpick just a tiny bit but only because I know you are a perfectionist.
