Mike Mulitsch spotted what looks like the McFarlane Cowl on their IG feed. Looks decent. More accurate than the Mattel but not sure it's as much fun, I think the neck is a little short too-- but I'll let the experts chime in.

Maybe it’s this one? Screenshot from their Instagram feed. A small blurb at the bottom of one the 1966 7” figure offering a chance to win the limited edition cowl.

I don't think it's cloth but hard plastic. I don't think anyone will be able to wear this cowl.

I think with the way the "fabric" drops in the photo, it will be fabric and wearable. However, I have less hope that this is the case as the Keaton one they put up pre-order this week isn't. I'm sorry, but what use is a full-scale Batman cowl replica if you cannot wear it?

Good point-- the Keaton cowl is not wearable. We'll see if they put this one on display.
I don't understand the excitement for the Keaton one-- there have been a billion releases of it, and as someone who actually saw one in person (the full suit actually) I can tell you those cheap Rubber Masks Rubies put out in '89 were spot on-- there are a ton of flaws on the original. Also an FYI-- the boots are built on a pair of Keaton's personal Nikes and they were painted over. The suit itself was no bigger than 5'7" and insanely small--I'd guess you'd have to be no heavier than 145lbs to get into it.

But back to this one-- I think it would be Cray Cray to make a cowl that's not wearable, and while this one certainly has plenty of flaws I like it's slightly purple look and the cowl markings are thinner than the ones Mattel did (and I love the Mattel cowl).

According to this site, the cowl is “perfect for cosplay,” so wearable. They were taking pre-orders and already sold out at US $314 and change.

I'll wait for better pics, but right now at that price point and for what you get I think it's a pass.

Any idea when it will be up for pre-order with U.S. based retailers?

$300 seems high but add in inflation to the Mattel one , maybe close … what was the price on the Mattel one? I got it heavily discounted as I know several of you did

The Matty Collector one was $100 back when it was released in 2014 so, even with inflation it shouldn't TRIPLE in price, right?

I don't know how things are where you are but up here in the Northeast, eggs, gas, meat prices, I'd say they are 2-3x what they were back then. I just filled my car (granted premium) but it was $4.99 a gallon.

For me, at least from the lousy pic we have so far, there's not enough charm in this to add it to my cowl collection, but it's a nice piece if someone doesn't have one.

We live in the same state! LOL

Could this $300 price be higher than what it actually is as it is an overseas retailer?

It certainly could be. We should hold judgement until we know, and yes I am guilty of violating that. I withdraw my comments your honor.

It is what I am *hoping* that it isn't $300. It may very well be. I am waiting to see if McFarlane reveals the 1966 Cowl by the end of SDCC.
