Mattel Batcomputer makeover into Bat Scanner.

Post by BiffPow »

We already have a very nice 3-D printed Bat computer, and what we really needed for the figures was a Bat Scanner. So, I took the “Batcomputer” from the Mattel “to the Batcave“ set, then manipulated and scaled images of the Burroughs B205 and the original bat scanners to fit the 1/12 scale computer. Not perfect, but a visual improvement.

Can’t get the striated lines out of the print on photo paper (yet) but looks best on photo paper over print on label paper, overall.

Thanks! High praise coming from you! 😊

I had to reconfigure the scanner panels to fit the Mattel Bat computer. The real panels are more square and would not be proportional.

Thanks! I realize that the bat scanners did not say “Bat Scanner,” (there being two different signs for each scanner: “Terrestrial Scanner” and, alternately, “Celestial Scanner” or “Lunar Scanner”) and there was no Burroughs B205 on top of them, but it dresses up a diorama pretty well.

I have forwarded to Ben, so he may post in the Members’ Art, if there is an interest and the files are worthy of the space. Otherwise, if you message me with your email I can send them.

Thanks, I will.
I looks like your configuration is the ‘BATRADARSCOPE’
This is the computer on display at the Hollywood Museum.
It is a replica, but most things there were screen accurate.

Well that’s cool! I’ll change out the name! Thanks for that. I had based it on photos like this:
