One of my favorites. The Scarecrow's laugh gave me nightmares as a kid, but always thought it a great adventure story. Well-mannered Vicar by day, terrifying smuggler and highwayman by night. I'm not familiar with Russell Thorndike's original novels upon which this is based, but after a quick look on Wikipedia it appears that Disney sanitized the story and didn't get into Syn's past as the pirate Clegg, a ruthless murderer bent on revenge. The Disney version is more to my liking.

I think the first time I made this mask was when it was replayed on TV in the 70's when I was a kid.
I used my brothers cub scout neckerchief!
Made the costume in the early 80's for Halloween one year.
I've returned to the well more recently...

My former boss at Disney painted all the movie posters and related artwork for the film.
