I don't think this is correct, I'm pretty sure if you order the maskless version in the listing that's what you'll get. I haven't ordered any, but I do know of one friend who got both of his from Target.com

Only on Batman is this true. With Robin Riddler Joker they are platinum variant chase editions.

Just found a slew of Penquins at my Target, only new wave so far.

UPDATE: I tried to purchase Pengy, but the register wouldn't ring it up and said "Not able to sell until 9/09 12am"
So I guess we have to wait a while.
I am going to speak with a manager, see and see what's up.

I love the fact we are getting a villains Playset, hope it’s based off the United Underworld lair from the movie. Nice to see the Batcycle, hopefully we get a Batcopter and Batboat too. Mr. Freeze and Julie’s Catwoman are great edition, hopefully Julie won’t be hard to get.

Not sure how I feel about the b&w figures, I know many people back then saw the show in b&w so it may be interesting. Would be nice if Robin, Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman were put out as b&w figures too. I noticed on Target.com Batman and Robin have both completely sold out and are not even showing up when you search Retro Batman.

What do we recon BW TV Variants are?

The way we watched "Batman" Down Under... in b/w until March 1975, when colour TV finally launched here.

I can still remember the first time I saw the show in color. It was a Sears department store, so 25 TVs were tuned to Batman.
