SEASON ONE / STORY EIGHT
As the tsunami approaches,Batman begins to work out numbers.
"No time to do math Batman" says O'Hara
"I am working out how long before we are hit by the wave-I make it precisely 6 minutes"the Caped Crusader responds.He then uses his Batberry and makes a call.
"My wife!She will be hit sooner than that!"Crichton exclaims
"Have faith and patience Warden" Batman reassures him.Then he remembers Robin."Inspector Bash,go into Surf's Up and help Robin out please,quickly,you have no time to lose " Bash takes 2 men with him and they go into the store.Bash stops the pully feet before the sharks snapping away below Robin."Holy Amity" He cries.
"Dont kill her, we can use her as a hostage!"The Sea Hag orders Tiger Shark.He nods in agreement and offers Batgirl his hand. She takes it,he pulls her into the seacopter but before she can retaliate,he stuns her with a tranquiliser."Not long now Haggie and the booty is ours"
"And Gotham will be underwater" she adds cackling like an old woman.
"3 minutre Batman" Commissioner Gordon points out.
"Shall we take cover?" Mayor Lindseed suggests
"Any minute now gentlemen"Batman says.
Bash brings Robin out,"Holy Hawaii" he calls.
Alfred arrives on the AlfCycle,it is clearly him,but no bowler hat and a green eye mask covering his eyes.
"Who's this?"Bash asks
"It must be the voice on the Batline" Gordon replies.
Batman pulls out a large,silver gun from a holdall that is on Alfred's person and points it directly at the tsunami."He's just a friend Commissioner"Batman says as he fires.
Meanwhile Mrs Crichton,Mrs Lindseed,Aunt Harriet and the other girls cower as the wave is upon them.Suddenly,a purplish ray hits the wave,freezing it automatically.They look up,releaved.Aunt Harriet faints.
"You've done it Batman,say what is that device? A Bat-freezer?"
"No Commissioner,the Bat-freezer contains mine and Robin's ice cream, no this is one of Mr.Freeze's instant freeze guns that we confiscated from him and from other foes of our past.I keep these to conduct experiments on,to ascertain antidotes,ways to combat these diabolical weapons and gimmicks so myself and Robin can keep Gotham City incident free"
"And it works"O'Hara chimes.
Later,in the cave,Batman and Robin are attempting to locate the Sea Hag and Tiger Shark and are also concerned for Batgirl's welfare.Alfred slips off to the service elevator and speaks into a little mic."Are you there Batgirl?"he asks.
"Alfred,is that you?"
"Yes,I am so glad you are alive,where are you?"
"I do not know,I was drugged then I woke up here,smells fishy,like an inside dock.Is that Batman and Robin I can hear Alfred?"
The butler thinks quickly on his feet,"Errrrr,no,it's the television set,I have the news on and they speaking to the Dynamic Duo"Batgirl is cut off.
"A mic!"Tiger Shark says as he rips it out of Batgirl's hand and throws it into the water."I would love to finish you off,but after your batty boyfriend foiled our plan,you are better off alive. For now"
"He's not my boyfriend!"screams Batgirl
"Sea Hag,what are we gonna do with her,we cant use her as a hostage if nobody knows we have her"
"Mmm,good point,let's send a little message.....CACKLE CACKLE CACKLE"Hag replies....
Commissioner Gordon and Bash get out of the lift and are about to enter Gordon's office when they hears O'Hara call to him,"Dont come in Commissioner,I have got crabs!"
After looking at the each other for a split second,Gordon refuses to take heed and opens the door.There,inside are over 150 crabs in the office,scuttling around,O'Hara standing on the desk.
"So,the crabs can only be purchased at one place"Robin says,deducing the fact in Gordon's office,while O'Hara and Bash attempt to catch the crabs in the background.
"Exactly Robin,Scheider's Indoor Fish Market,and it closed down only last week.And a lock of Batgirl's hair"Batman responds.The Duo dash out of the office....
"So,the trap is set,the Duo storm in not knowing the floorboards are loose and when they try to reach Batgirl,piranhas will be waiting underneath in the sea.I havent fed them for hours."The Sea Hag cackles again.
"Yeah, I dont like the cackling Haggie"Tiger Shark says.
"We ready to go and get the loot?Let's put on our scuba gear"
"I have this outfit for you Haggie" Tiger Shark says holding up swimwear.
"I wouldnt be seen dead in a tight red bikini!" she shouts.
As the villains leave,Alfred waits behind a crate of red herrings outside in the sun.He is not impressed by the smell and is about to enter when he sees a floorboard jutter.Batgirl is tied to a post at the end of the room,unconcious.He sees a chain pully going across the ceiling,jumps up with his brolly and it hooks onto the chain.He begins to slide along as the floorboards move and occasionally the piranhas poke through.
On their way to Schneider's in the Batmobile,the Duo see the seacopter and make an abrupt turn,Batman telling Robin that Batgirl would have to wait as she would want them to tackle Sea Hag and Tiger Shark first.They give chase.
The seacopter touches down by Clavin Cliff and the villains climb down,put their scuba gear on and dive in.
Alfred is still hanging in the middle of the room and is losing grip of his umbrella when Batgirl wakes up.She wriggles out of her bonds and end sup being the one helping Alfred.
As the Sea Hag and Tiger Shark swim into the cavern,they see where the loot is hidden.As it is dry,they take off their gear and head to it, only to find a note saying "YOUR BOAT HAS COME IN"
Tiger Shark reacts angrily to this and kicks a rock."Time to give yourself up"Batman from behind them demands.
"Batman and oh,I see The Boy Wonder survived dinner time too" Sea Hag says.She points a harpoon at them."Any last requests?"
All of a sudden a Bat-a-rang knocks the harpoon out of the Sea Hag's hand and Batgirl,takes her snorkel off and says,"You'd better wave goodbye to freedom Sea Hag"
A punch-up insues,Batman instructing Robin to take a seat as it would be unfair 3v2.
Tiger Shark appears to be winning, but Robin occasionally adds a few digs and trips when the rumble passes near him.Batgirl and the Sea Hag have a proper whack-up,but eventually the Sea Hag is overcome.Tiger Shark is knocked into a corner and just as Batman is about to give him the final blow,Tiger Shark pulls out a gas-bomb and smashes it onto the floor.During the smokescreen he escapes and swims to the surface.B and R give cahse but Shark is a swimming expert and pulls away faster and eventaully gets to the cliffs and clims up them.He reaches the top and spots the Batmobile and runs towards it.He jumps in the driver's seat and is about to speed off when he hears,"I wouldnt do that if I was you".
Tiger Shark looks worried,"A talking car?" And with that,Alfred pops up from the Batmobile boot and "CLANGGG!!!!!" the Tiger Shark is knocked out by the butler's brolly. Hearing the Terrific Trio arrive, Alfred gets the AlfCycle out and peddles away.The Trio,along with a bat-cuffed Sea Hag are bemused to find Tiger Shark unconcious at the wheel.....
EPILOGUE
Dick and Bruce are in Gordon's office being briefed about what went on when Barbera skips in.She tells her daddy she is going back on her travels but not for a few days.
O'Hara comes in with a note from Batgirl saying her goodbyes and asks Barbera to give Robin a kiss on the cheek next time they meet.
Bruce says the loot found by Batman has been donated to the Wayne Foundation to create a Water Sports for Underprivileged Children club.
Barbera asks Dick out on a date,he blushes,but agrees.She asks if he wants to see the new 3D shark film,he turns his nose up.He asks her if she fancies the new piranha movie,she says "no". They both look lost then decide to go for a meal.Gordon suggests the new fish restaurant in town.They both shout "no" at the same time."I'll pick you up at 7pm for a drink" Dick says.She nods..
