Thought I'd bump this thread to let you guys know that the Joker costume I'd say is up there with the catwoman costume. Probably the best two costumes in the whole bunch. I actually found this thread in 2013 when I was researching the costumes. I took a risk buying the Joker one and it turned out to be worth it. I came in second in a halloween costume contest that year.

Many assumed I made the costume myself, maybe I would of won if I didn't tell everyone that came along that I bought it. :P lol

So if anyone's still considering it, it's worth a shot. I've also seen the Robin one in person. It's not too bad, bit crooked but it's okay.

I've forgotten - did the Joker costume come with a green wig or did you have to get one and if so, where did you get it from?

I had to buy one, but it turned out to be bad quality. So I sprayed my hair with the green spray they sell on around halloween. Plus my hair was decent length, or it wouldn't of worked at all. Would be better if it came with one but I'm sure that it would also be horrible..

Gonna try to post some pics tomorrow

Now that I put the costume back on, I remember a few things I disliked about it. I had to add more velcro to the vest because it didn't want to stay shut. I ordered the Xlarge and the vest seemed kind of long. The costume got to me literally a day before Halloween so I would of liked to of got a green shirt to go under it. Because yes there is no shirt, which shows a little at times. I enjoyed the feel of the gloves. They looked good and felt good too.. just the material didn't really hold up to touching velcro.

Overall not the worst but it still had a few flaws

I don't know what happened to what I typed but.. The jacket was really large compared to the vest.

I am 21, and have never really gotten excited about dressing up for Halloween before like I am this year. I got talking to my wife about what we would dress up as, and I got to thinking I would love to do the Riddler. Our budget is super super tight, so I am trying to keep it as close to nothing as possible, but I do want it to look decent. Given those restraints, I won't really be able to make an exact copy of Frank Gorshin's Riddler in time, but I've spent a ton of time the past couple days researching different things. I am planning on putting together something inspired by Gorshin's suit costume, but not really any one version of the Riddler in particular. I found a pretty good looking green eye mask at Walmart a few nights ago with an elastic band that was only a couple bucks. I plan on getting a black derby hat and probably using felt to put a green question mark on the hat. I would also like to find a purple necktie and put a black question mark on that. I found a really cheap green coat that I will probably order and put over a black dress shirt. I will likely wear black pants with it, and some dress shoes which I already have. I will purchase purple gloves to wear with it. I am going to try to go for something similar to this: http://angelophile.tumblr.com/post/2908 ... qus_thread

I'm new to the site, but I've been a fan of the classic series since the early 80's when the local station would show reruns every Sunday morning when I was a kid and Batman is my favorite superhero/comic book character.

I took a chance and ordered the Batman suit from Amazon ($70-ish). Reviews overall (here and everywhere) are mixed at best. I already have the Mattel Cowl and Utility Belt that I got for Father's Day.

Hopefully I can salvage pieces and parts for future Batman costumesAt the very least, we'll have photos of our kiddo's very first Halloween with Mom as dressed as Catwoman, Dad as Batman, and our daughter as Robin that we can treasure for her whole life. And since we're not even going to a party or Trick or Treating, this year's Halloween is just Instagram photos only, so we can "cheat" out what the costume actually looks like through the magic of safety pins and filtering.

Sounds like you're going to have a great Halloween. Feel free to share some photos of you all in costume!

I cant wait to see pics myself. Its always fun to see how everyone's costume comes together. It sounds like the caped crusader got summoned (by my wife) to appear at her daycare on Monday. Should be a hoot!

My wife and I are fairly private folks, so I may not post a picture of the baby. Hope everyone understands.

Happy Halloween, everyone!

So here's my cheap review on the Batman 66 costume from Rubies, pictures to follow (?):

I'm 5' 8.5", 161 lbs, so I ordered the "standard" size.

I paid $70.00 online at Amazon. And I got exactly what I paid for.

Starting with the individual pieces in order of best to worst and moving down...
- Body suit/This is pretty well made and the symbol was centered. It was a little high up and could get obscured by the cape and/or cowl, but not a big deal. Fit was loose and a little long (I'm short and relatively skinny), so I wore exercise/thermal tights underneath and that made the legs look a little more fitted. The material is fairly stretchy and I'm a self sufficient first born, so zipping myself up and down to get in and out of the suit was easy.

- Belt/It's a $20.00 accessory all by itself in my opinion. It's wide, it's yellow, and it's got a shiny gold bat emblem buckle. The Velcro issues mentioned in this thread were non existent for me. I'm a mens 30W, so I had to cinch that belt to near the end, so there's a lot of "leather" left over material on the end for me. I also have the Mattel Matty Collector belt. The Mattel belt is a better belt, but it's a little loose on me and the hooks that keep it closed can pop out at the slightest provocation. The pouches and cylinders on the Mattel belt "work", but that's a "hero belt" and not a "stunt" belt. The Rubies belt creates the illusion of the utility belt, but the pouches and cylinders (rectangular pieces of foam when you get close) are non functional.

- Cape/Not bad. But not great. For me the cape length was about right. My wife thought it was a little too short but for a "stunt suit" (Halloween party costume), it was the right length. It's a little wrinkly and the labels all say DO NOT IRON so it'll stay wrinkly for now. The Velcro closure on the other hand is simplistic but could easily be modified in order to make it more fitted. It's allows for a fairly large neck. If you want a very good representation of what I am talking about, this years Modern Family Halloween episode featured Cam and Mitch sporting the Rubies Batman and Robin costumes (Cam is in the Batman 66 suit minus the mask - more on that at the very end).

- Boot covers/Their blue, they're made to look like boots, they stay up when you put them on. They do exactly what they were made to do, it's not their fault that they are dumb.

- The trunks/These are pretty much bloomers. Thin band of elastic sewn in to the waist and each leg with LOTS of material to bunch up, front AND rear. Also, instead of sewing two pieces of material together with a seam on the sides, they were sewn together with seams up the front and back. You'll need to modify this piece the most in order for it to be comfortable and flattering, or at the very least "decent".

Here's the worst of the bunch:

- The gloves/I got a lefty AND a righty, but the lefty feels like it may have started off very briefly as a righty and then someone snapped out of it and remembered they'd already made that one! If you have massive forearms and short fingers, these gloves will be perfect. If not, don't wear and/or figure something else out.

- The cowl/Paint is correct color, ears are on straight, and that's the good news. The bad news is that even on the "standard" size, this mask is a little snug. Like, way snug. If you remember my comment about Eric Stonestreet (Cam) on Modern Family sporting this costume, I mentioned he was wearing an off the toy shelf Batman mask instead of the included cowl, this is probably the number one reason why. The number two reason probably is because it smells like a bad Chinese electronics factory. For this alone, DON'T wear this mask! I pulled it out of the separate bag (it was packaged by itself, so was the belt) that it came in and felt like I was going to pass out. Seriously, if you're super sensitive to chemical smells, don't put this thing on your face. I also have the Mattel Matty Collector Cowl and even though the colors don't match, for our family's Halloween photo shoot purposes, it worked great.

Overall review: Colors are way brighter than "authentic", but it's a good purchase if you want to be Batman at a Halloween party or go Trick or Treating with your kids. It's relatively comfortable, and is an okay enough facsimile of the show's costume to create the illusion that you are in fact, The Bat. It's definitely not a convention level costume. If you're not picky and want something fun and can find this for less that $100 like me, get it. But if you want authentic, don't waste your time and money and energy. Save up and buy the best or make it to spec. Also, don't wear the included cowl unless you want to die. It's really, really, really bad. I can't say that enough. It smells like pure poison.

Any questions, feel free to ask me here in this thread or PM me.
