Batgirl Equal Pay PSA - question?

Post by RubberLotus »

Hello, all.

I have a ridiculously minor question about the equal pay PSA that the Department of Labor put out a while back (the last time that Craig played Batgirl!) - when did it first come out? I mean, most sources say '72, but I've heard other sources say '71 or even '74.

Can anyone who was alive back then shed some light on this?

I remember seeing it in 1974. Other than that I don't know. I know I was 11 and was confused as to why everything was like the show except for no Adam West. People say Adam was trying to distance himself from the part, but I don't think so. A mere few months later I saw him and Burt at the World of Wheels in costume.

It's possible that it was filmed in 1972 when Adam was still trying to distance himself from the role, and still airing in 1974. Look how long "This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs. Any questions?" ran. That PSA seemed to air for *years*.
