Not familiar with and don't own a Blu-ray player but I did secure the Star Wars Saga on Blu-ray for posterity recently, still tossing up whether to procure the Batman Limited Edition Blu-ray or stick with the DVD release only. From what I can see, the Blu-ray only comes with four 'Highly Collectible Premiums':
Hot Wheels® Replica Batmobile
The Adam West Scrapbook
44 Vintage Trading Cards
Ultraviolet Digital Copy
Residing in Australia, I hear the Limited Edition Blu-ray is available in either Region 1 (http://www.amazon.com) or Region Free (http://www.amazon.co.uk), what's my best option?

Wow - we haven't had a post in this topic for over two days! What's wrong - doesn't anyone care??

Alright, I have a question - the Blu-Ray set is being advertised as a limited edition, but does this refer to the special edition box only? I can't believe the actual Blu-Ray discs would only be available for a short time, but I could see the box set being limited.

Any thoughts?

Well, you know "limited" nowadays, Jim. Usually means "limited to what we can sell"... ;)

You will probably lose the following:

Hot Wheels® Replica Batmobile
The Adam West Scrapbook
44 Vintage Trading Cards
Ultraviolet Digital Copy
And perhaps lose a disc or two of features

Right now I have the blu pre-ordered, but if a barebones blu was offered I would go with that instead, I don't really need the extra material, the remastered series is plenty for me. I've never been a fan of those deluxe sets you see at Best Buy or Target that have a mini figure or some extra item in it. Doesnt really do much for me.

When does Amazon usually close the pre-orders? Just confirmed a DVD set delivered to Australia would be 141.96 USD (134.98 plus shipping and handling 6.98).

You can virtually always preorder until the scheduled release date.

There is really no drawback to ordering from Amazon, the earlier the better. You assure yourself of the best preorder price between now and then. They do not charge your card until they get ready to ship. And you can instanly cancel a preorder whenever you want for no reason whatsoever-you can even usually cancel while it is in the shipping process.

For the "old fashioned" DVD version, will it be a dual-layer or double-sided job? And why was Ms. Craig a no-show at the SDCC panel?

Scott would know for certain but I'm pretty sure she has said she's not doing any more cons.

I see it's available on R2 blu ray.

Any sign of an R2 DVD?

I've bit the bullet and pre ordered the blu ray. Though if a R2 DVD is presented before release date i may change.

Anyone know whow the eps are spread per disc. Clearly the ones on the amazon reviews are incorrect.
Why would they finish a disc with the first part of Penguin is a girls best friend and start the next disc with part 2?

I also wonder if the features are all on one disc or spread out (which I'd prefer). and if the Batgirl pilot will turn up on there after all.

I have a stupid question. With them cleaning up the prints, will they be clearing up the sound? It's not the dialogue I'm talking about. I remember in the 70s being surprised with how much clearer California Nights sounded on the record than on the show. Last year I saw a video on youtube where someone put the record over the song scene from That Darn Catwoman, and padded out the parts of the song that were missing from the episode with other scenes from the episode. (Found it here. And along those lines, someone did the same with Maybe Now, though padding it with Commissioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara didn't work quite as well. Heh, California Nights was even used as a theme for a Batman/Catwoman video. :D )

Thinking of this also made me wonder if the theme song will come through clearer, and will we clearly hear a dah-dah-dah-dah (as Batguitarist said the words are printed on the sheet music) rather than the na-na-na-na that everyone seems to hear?

The exact listing of episodes and features were published by disc on the warner site and on TVshowsondvd.com
