On the Ma Parker episode last Saturday night I noticed that Warden Crichton prison bars were painted in red, blue, yellow colors but when Batman & Robin went back after Batman tossed the bomb from he Batmobile engine, the bars were just painted gray. At the end of the episode when the Commissioner, Warden Crichton and Batman & Robin were in Warden Crichton's office the bars had been painted in the bright colors again.
Also when Ma Parker and her gang were hijacking the truck, Ma said that she had a slight headache. Now Batman & Robin had just gotten out of the Batmobile and were running towards the truck. Batman remarked to Robin when they returned to the Batmobile that Ma Parker & her gang were heading for a drugstore. Hmmm Holy Bionic hearing ???
I did have a little "huh?" moment over that - thought I'd missed something, but I guess the writers did.
Watching the episode I kept thinking Ma Parker would have been better played by Ann Sothern; and she would have been performing with her real daughter Tisha Sterling. Plus, she actually played the same kind of "outlaw mother" comic villain role several years later in the movie Crazy Mama and was excellent in it, Southern accent and all.
"To the medical eye, such childish claptrap means only one thing, young man: You need some sleep."
I did sort of notice something was funny with the headache/drugstore part, but I forgot about it as the episode went on. I never noticed the prison bars, though. Now I'll have to go back and look at both of these parts!
