The Culver Studios / Desilu Culver

Post by Ben Bentley »

As some of you know, over the years I have loved researching and learning about the production of the show and the Bat-Location stuff is a big component of that for me, so you can imagine how elated I was a few days ago to find some photos I shot of The Culver Studios on an older backup hard drive that I honestly thought had been lost during a system migration years ago.

The photos were shot in late April 2010 on a Bat-location scout with Scott.

I would have loved to have been there in 1966.

Great shots, Ben. Makes me want to mix up some Temper Tonic. :)

I love that third shot. I can just picture Ben standing there thinking, "Yeah...yeah...the Number 2 dumpster...oh the stories it could tell....Sweet!"

I would absolutely freak to have a well-detailed photo history book on the old Desilu 40-Acre Backlot that was used by Batman, Andy Griffith, Star Trek, Gomer Pyle, Hogan's Heroes, etc. That now-extinct studio site was a Hollywood history goldmine!
